Old mare in need 7 Replies

Let me tell the whole story, so I don't confuse any body.  I lease a 16 acre pasture and barn from a man that I used to go to school with.  I had the pasture for a few months when the man came to me…Continue

We really need to join forces and help where and when we can.  There is a wealth of knowledge and caring right on this site.  I too want to step up and do something so I joined Maine Equine Welfare Alliance MEWA when I was at the Equine event in Augusta.  I like their approach and would love to share any info with interested horse peeps.

This past fall I took in two rescue horses. They are truly a blessing.

Dolly had broken leg/healed and Beau has a gate injury from racing.

These two horses are a joy :) I love them

The owner of the horses is going to court today. There has been a lot of help coming in for the horses. I hope they take them all away from him and can find them homes. There are just getting to be so many hard times falling on people but it is never an excuse to let an animal go hungery or without water.

Truly a sad story Pam...I look forward to your updates. After what happened with my Dash, his mom and 27 others I'm beginning to believe animal abuse and neglect should be a hanging offense...!

A very sad story here in Montana. 500 to 600 horses were left on a ranch because of a foreclosure. No one bothered to make sure that they had food or water. 5 of the horses have died 3 of which had to be shot. One of the mares they called a sack of bones. Now they have gotten food and water hauled in to them from donations from all over the country. No one wants to take the responsability for them. The owner has been cited for neglect, we will try to keep you all updated about this.

Steve-even if the vom provider isn't close-call the person anyway-the chiropractor I have travels around especially when  there are a few people in the same area needing the service-just call and ask-the worst case scenario-would be a no

Hey Steve... check out this site. I can't find anyone close to you, but if you want to invest, you would have it for other injuries and it would probably pay for itself in a short amount of time. Good luck. http://www.spectravet.com/pro.html

STEVE, I will check to see if I know anyone around you. Bear with me please.

Have you tried the new equine stem cell enhancer nutrition? It just supports the body to release adult stem cells from the bone morrow and they migrate to the injury and become the type of cell and begin the repair process.

I'm in Arcadia, FL. According to the website you provided the closest is a DVM in Sarasota...quite a haul. We are very rural
